History and the Bible
Homosexuality – the ruin of a nation
by Jim Mettenbrink

[EGW editor’s note:  On June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court of the United States (a.k.a. SCOTUS) attempted to make history by claiming to redefine “marriage” as something other than only between one man and one woman.  The four dissenting high judges all expressed that this decision has nothing to do with enforcing the Constitution of the United States.  It has nothing to do with identifying and upholding what that Constitution legally allows American citizens or the courts.  It has more to do with impacting our culture than with upholding our law.  After reading through the court’s syllabus, written opinion, and the recorded dissents, I have to agree with the dissenting judges.
“Homosexuality – the ruin of a nation” is the audio recording of a two-part sermon given by Jim Mettenbrink at the Brookings church of Christ on June 28 and July 6 of 2015.  In it Jim looks at facts that history and the Bible teach us about the degrading impact homosexuality has had on cultures in the past and can be expected to have on our own American culture.
Maybe you consider yourself as neutral and undecided concerning the growing promotion of homosexuality being evangelized by Hollywood over the past several decades under the disguise of tolerance and now being insisted upon by several in government positions under the disguise of justice.  By the time you've heard Jim on this subject, maybe you’ll be upset about the dangers of which he warns us or perhaps you'll be angry at him for pointing them out… but either way you will have lost your neutrality.]
