     Basic-version website — "About the ... Church of Christ" is your customized page with one available link to an optional page and is the first information page people see when they visit your congregation's Exploring God's Word website.  This page also displays when users click the "About the ... Church of Christ" link in the header frame above.  (The menu to the left provides immediate access to the shared library's most recently added or featured articles.)
     Here visitors find the local information about your congregation such as name, meeting and/or mailing address, worship and class times, and phone number(s) — in short, how people can contact or visit you.
     What other information should you include?  Preacher's name / background, offers of mailed or home Bible studies, radio / TV programs, newspaper articles, and website / email addresses are all useful information to the interested site visitor.  Do you have any special materials or tapes to share with your community concerning subjects such as marriage enrichment, Christian / Biblical evidences, how-to-study-the-Bible, family, gambling / alcohol / drug recovery, or anything else that might interest people in your area to contact the church?
     Important guidelines to remember as you choose and prepare your information for this page are:
          1) Keep it simple and easy to read.
          2) Keep it informative and interesting.
          3) Keep it brief -- about 150 to 300 words should be enough.  Remember, you have the option of including one link to a second page for providing additional information.
     
     Look through the following text for examples of what might be included and how it might be presented.  From less than 300 words the reader learns the essential place & times, the preacher's name, two other resources of useful information, and how the congregation views the importance of good Bible study.  In this case, the preacher's name is also the link to the optional page, possibly providing more information about him or perhaps an article by him to the website’s visitors.

     With the basic version website, you may provide monthly updates for the information on your welcome page and your optional page.  All updates should be sent to the EGW editor, either by postal or electronic mail.]

     Do you understand what you are reading as you explore and search the Holy Bible? God reveals His will through His written word to those who are willing to make the effort to understand.

     The Mystreet church of Christ meets at 1234 - 56th Street NE in Sample, SD.  Our preacher and evangelist is Real GoodGuy.
     On Sundays we have a Bible study at 9:30 am, worship at 10:30 am, and an afternoon study and worship at 1:00 pm.  Our mid-week study is on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm.  If you enjoy Exploring God's Word, please listen to “Words of Christ” on radio station ABCD 700 AM, Sunday mornings at 8:30.  To learn even more about us, please check out our main website at “www.oursite.org” or check out Real’s website at “www.realgoodguy.com”.

     • Churches of Christ in our region routinely host an area-wide singing on the fifth Sunday of months with five Sundays in them. At 4pm on January 31, this event will be hosted by the Mystreet church of Christ in Sample, SD.  Visitors are welcome to peaceably attend, enjoy the congregational acappella music, and stay for the meal immediately following the singing.
