Love, is a misunderstood, if not the most misunderstood, word in the Bible.  Parents will recall their child at some point uttered, “You don’t love me!”  And when the teen was demanding his way, said, “You just don’t understand!”  Or, “But mom, everyone has that!” or, “...is doing that!”  The current Politically Correct secularism, (read that as a society without God’s way) demands tolerance and nearly equates it with being loving.

Secular Humanism has made man his own god, who makes his own rules and changes them to suit his own desires.  Postmodernism states one must tolerate that belief, hence one can not criticize anything because after all each person is his own god and above criticism.  To criticize spawns an implicitly hypocritical counter criticism, “You are not tolerant” or “You must accept my belief (behavior) as normal (acceptable).”  There are a plethora of websites which intertwine tolerance with love, even making them synonymous, which reveals the general brainwashing of society.  To disagree is discrimination or derisively called hate.  This begs the question “Is God unloving because He does not tolerate sin?”

One hardly begins reading the first book of the Bible, without learning of God’s absolute intolerance of sin – “
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.  And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.  So the Lord said, ‘I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them” (Genesis 6:5-7).  Thus God’s intolerance prompted the worldwide flood.

     On the other hand, “
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16, 17).  “... God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).  God’s sacrificial love to save man, was not tolerance of sin, but rather reflecting the terribleness and consequence of it.

Since the citizen of Jesus kingdom is to imitate Him (1 Corinthians 11:1), he can not tolerate sin, but be willing to endure ridicule for his intolerance of it.  Secularists presently glorify idolatry in all forms of self-satisfaction (above all else) and the abominations of abortion and licentious and promiscuous sex, currently legitimized and highlighted by homosexuality and the obliteration of monogamous heterosexual marriage with the governmental sponsorship of homosexual marriage.  The citizen must stand firmly against such sin.  To tolerate sin implicitly endorses it and prevents one from going to heaven (Romans 1:32).
